- Hāgarē was Mickies debut short film shot in Ethiopia. It was selected and screened at the Linz International short film festival in Austria where Mickies attended during October of 2024. 
- Production Assistant and gaffer work for both the Funny Asian Women Kollective (FAWK) and APIA film collective. He has worked on a collection of short film sketches and narrative short films with organizations and continues to be involved in the programs. 
- Mickies is a member of the Convergence Fellowship, a cohort of filmmakers formed to grow, create, and explore their craft. This multi-year program, running through Spring 2026, includes collaborative short film shoots, editing sessions, retreats and monthly gatherings.
- In May 2025, Mickies shot his second short film, Birdbrain. Written and directed by Mickies, the narrative project brought together both familiar collaborators and new local talent. The film served as an important step in his growth as a filmmaker, teaching him valuable lessons about the process and the many behind-the-scenes steps that can’t be skipped when making a film. 
- Mickies' short film, Temar Lije, is an ambitious projected to be filmed in Ethiopia in summer 2026. Its treatment was selected for the Linz Talent Academy Program, a fellowship that includes both virtual and in-person mentorship with filmmakers and experts. As part of the program, Mickies will pitch the project at the Cannes Film Festival in May and in Austria in October for funding opportunities.
